New Officials

To All New Officials
If you have not yet been contacted to referee any games, please contact the assignor Brent Deptuck as soon as possible. If you do not know the name of the assignor for your area, you can Email the ALRA Webmaster directly by clicking here.

Minimum Age of Officials
If you are looking into becoming an ALRA official, the minimum age of referees is normally 13. If you are a bit younger, we will consider making exceptions for individuals who have been involved with the game of lacrosse for a number of years, or they have a sibling or parent refereeing the game which they can be paired with.

Rule Questions
Are there any rules that you are still unsure about? Are there any situations that have come up in your games that you were unsure about how to call? Email us here with your questions, or check out our Frequently-Asked Questions page for answers to some questions that have popped up so far this season.

On-floor Positioning
Be sure to also read through the Referee Positioning Floor Diagrams handout, available from the Canadian Lacrosse Association Web site.

Uniform
For guidelines on what you should have in your referee bag for your uniform, click here.

2006 Handbook
For those of you who have yet to receive your 2006 Referee Handbook, you can download it here in Adobe PDF (350k) format.

Paysheets
For anyone in need of replacement paysheets for tracking your games, you can download it here in Microsoft Excel (22k) or Adobe PDF (9k) format.

Please Note:

1) Paysheets are to be submitted each month, and need to be submitted in the first seven days of the next month. If paysheets for the previous month are submitted after the 7th, referees will not be paid until the month following.

2) Please make sure your name and address are filled out CLEARLY on your paysheet. If your name and address cannot be read by your area's Referee-in-Chief, you will not be paid for those games.

3) For the 2006 season, please fill out your major games on one paysheet, and your major games on another paysheet.

Exhibition Games
If you are working exhibition games, payment for these games will not go through your Referee-in-Chief - this will be collected from the teams, and not through one of your paysheets.
