Referee Insurance
Part of every official's mandatory fees each year is exclusively for
insurance. This is largely due to injuries that can happen to any of
you at any time, and the astronomical medical bills that could stem
from an injury sustained during a lacrosse game. Although it is a rare
occurrence, an injury can happen to anyone, at any time, and it is imperative
to be prepared should such an occurence arise.
The following
are some forms to be used in the event an insurance claim is required
to be filed due to an injury sustained while refereeing in a lacrosse
game (also available on the Alberta
Lacrosse Web site):

Referee Travel
For officials wanting to officiate games and/or tournaments for either
box or field lacrosse either in another province or internationally,
the provincial Referee-in-Chief must be
notified ahead of time. This is necessary in the event an injury occurs
while officiating outside of the province or country, and Alberta medical
coverage cannot cover any relevant expenses.
